General Settings

Configure the basic settings for your Sealmetrics account.

Accessing General Settings

  1. Click the gear icon in the main navigation
  2. Select Account → General

Account Information

Account Name

The display name for your account, shown in the dashboard and reports.

Account Name: [My E-commerce Store          ]

This name appears in:
• Dashboard header
• Reports and exports
• Email notifications
• Team member invitations

Account ID

Your unique account identifier (read-only). Used for:

  • API calls
  • Support requests
  • Integration configuration

Website URL

The primary domain being tracked:

Used for:
• Link validation
• Cross-domain configuration
• Report deep links

Timezone Settings

Account Timezone

All data is displayed in your selected timezone:

This affects:
• Report date ranges
• Scheduled report delivery times
• Real-time dashboard display
• Anomaly detection timing

Data Processing

Changing timezone only affects how data is displayed. Historical data is stored in UTC and recalculated for display.

Default Date Range

Set the default date range when you open reports:

Options:
• Today
• Yesterday
• Last 7 Days (default)
• Last 30 Days
• This Month
• Last Month
• Custom (remember last selection)

Display Preferences

Number Format

Configure how numbers are displayed:

Number Format:
Thousands separator: [, ▼] (e.g., 1,000,000)
Decimal separator: [. ▼] (e.g., 1,234.56)

Preview: 1,234,567.89

Currency

Default currency for revenue display:

Currency: [EUR - Euro (€)              ▼]

This affects:
• Revenue reports
• Conversion values
• ROAS calculations

Note: Multi-currency data is converted at
daily rates for consistent reporting.

Date Format

How dates appear in reports:

Date Format: [DD/MM/YYYY                 ▼]

Options:
• DD/MM/YYYY (31/12/2024)
• MM/DD/YYYY (12/31/2024)
• YYYY-MM-DD (2024-12-31)

Week Start Day

For weekly reports and comparisons:

Week Starts On: [Monday                    ▼]

Options:
• Sunday (US standard)
• Monday (ISO standard)

Data Settings

Data Retention

View your data retention period:

Data Retention: 24 months

Your data is kept for 24 months from collection.
Older data is automatically deleted.

Current oldest data: January 2022
Will be deleted: January 2024

Sampling

View sampling status:

Data Sampling: Disabled ✅

All your data is processed without sampling.
This ensures 100% accuracy in all reports.

Note: Very high-traffic accounts may enable
sampling for performance. You'll be notified
if this becomes necessary.

Danger Zone

Archive Account

Temporarily disable tracking and hide from dashboard:

Archive Account

Archiving will:
• Stop all data collection
• Hide account from dashboard
• Preserve historical data
• Pause billing for this account

You can unarchive at any time.

Delete Account

Permanently delete the account and all data:

This will PERMANENTLY delete:
• All tracking data
• All reports and dashboards
• All integrations
• All settings

This action cannot be undone.

Permanent Action

Account deletion cannot be undone. Export your data first if needed.

Saving Changes

After making changes:

  1. Review your settings
  2. Click Save Changes
  3. Confirmation appears: "Settings saved successfully"

Changes take effect immediately for most settings. Timezone changes may take up to 1 hour to fully propagate.
